Recurring events not federated and other issues

When someone creates a recurring event, let's say once a week; the event is not federated using the relay actor. Another thing I saw is that future recurring events are not listed. Is this a expected behaviour or are these bugs? Also I was wondering if a recurring event should be federated, shouldn't they be federated once a week as well (if I follow the above example)?
