L’aria di primavera filtra negli studi blackoutiani favorendo lo scretch selvaggio di Ing Sollazzi sui dischi appena rimediati a Bristol intervallate dalle selezioni di Post Pony che pesca dai famigerati Weatherall Files, in un crescendo dub che fa sprofondare gli indici di ascolto ai minimi storici.

Jane Binta Breeze – Mad Woman, dall album ENEA ME CORNER (2009) Jean was a Jamaican dub poet and storyteller, acknowledged as the first woman to write and perform dub poetry. She worked also as a theatre director, choreographer, actor, and teacher. In the 1970s and 80s, Breeze became a pioneering poetic voice in the radical black community of London, a traditionally male-dominated dub poetry scene. ‘dub poetry‘ was an emerging movement that fused reggae rhythms with spoken word, and addressed political subjects. In Britain, it became popular among black activists and communities. It also gained a following among the overwhelmingly white ‘ranting poetry’ movement. It was a similar crossover in spoken word to the link-up in music between punk and reggae. Her poems speak in the voices of women characters in different situations and contexts. ‘Wife of Bath Speaking in Brixton Market’ spoke in the voice of Chaucer’s woman who has lost five husbands, and in another poem, an old woman reflects on her appreciation of life’s ‘Simple Tings’, as she ‘rocked the rhythms in her chair // brushed a hand across her hair // miles of travel in her stare.’ Breeze experienced persistent and serious mental ill-health. She had a diagnosis of schizophrenia, and heard voices.  Jean wrote and spoke openly about her ‘madness’, but resisted simplistic views of it as solely either a creative inspiration or a debilitating curse. 2. A talented and versatile collaborator. 6. Shanique Marie – Quality Time Sound System Freestyle 7. Kiki Hitomi – Yellow Story dall’album Karma No Kusari (2016) Kiki Hitomi è una cantautrice giapponese già membro del gruppo bass che ha pubblicato sull’etichetta londinese Ninja Tune “King Midas Sound”. Questo disco è uscito per Jahtari, netlabel di Lepzig, Germania, attiva già dal 2004, che, come mixa il nome, JAH + ATARI (8BIT)…non a caso il logo è un mix con l’iconico logo Atari, sul sito si trova sctritto: “We are a small record label based in Leipzig/Germany and we produce a kind of music here which we call – for the lack of a better term – DIGITAL LAPTOP REGGAE (DLR).This means nothing else but that we produce first and above all REGGAE music (or DUB) in its classical sense, which in itself is nothing new, but since we’re having a background of mostly electronic music we’re doing this with the only tool that is obvious to use for that purpose – a COMPUTER, and a computer only.” 8. Saeko Killi- NEXT TIME dall’ Album Dream in Dream (2024) 11. Maria Violenza – La ballade de l’indifférence (Scirocco, 2022, Sacred Hood) Originaria di Palermo (roccaforte dell’Inquisizione siciliana), Maria Violenza incarna la vendetta degli eretici. Traduce la sofferenza in melodie punk e synth, un viaggio in metropolitana nella direzione opposta da Medina alla Mecca. Ti inchioda al muro, intensifica le tue nevrosi e l’accelerazione fatale dei beat ti trascina negli inferi. Maria Violenza è un esorcismo moderno, che usa una drum machine, un sintetizzatore, un looper e riff folk arabi come strumenti. 12. Jo Squillo – Paranoia (Girl Senza Paura, 1981) Con questo disco conferma il suo talento ribelle e rivela un forte spirito anarchico, in linea con le avanguardie del periodo. L’artista ottiene un buon riscontro a livello commerciale sia in Italia che all’estero, soprattutto in Germania. In questo album confluiscono alcune incisioni precedenti, come il suo primo successo Skizzo skizzo, nel cui videoclip finge di rapire il cantante popolare Christian, a simboleggiare il rinnovamento radicale e violento che la sua musica propone. Fra i brani inclusi nell’album figurano Violentami e Orrore canzoni che in quel periodo suscitarono scalpore. 13. Jo Squillo – Tuo Cesare (Girl Senza Paura, 1981) 14. DJ HARAM Fishnets ft. BBymutha, SHA RAY & August Fanon (2025) DJ e produttrice nata e cresciuta in america di discendenza Siriana e Caucasica. Fa parte del duo 700 bliss con un’altra icona Moor Mother.  Questa traccia viene dal suo album d’esordio da solista Beside Myself,rilasciato nel 2025, ha precedentemente pubblicato altri 5 EP, di cui 2 con hyperdub,Hyperdub è etichetta discografica indipendente britannica con sede a Londra, considerata una delle più importanti della musica elettronica. Benché lo stile degli artisti della Hyperdub venga spesso classificato come dubstep, essi attingono anche ad altre espressioni sonore, che possono spaziare dall’hip hop, al chillout, alla dark garage, al grime, alla jungle, al dub e al breakbeat. 15. Le due cantanti esplorano la polifonia vocale, reinterpretando canti tradizionali del Mediterraneo e composizioni proprie, attraversando secoli e culture. L’armonizzazione delle loro voci (col vocoder) produce un suono vitreo, sempre sul punto di rompersi. Overjoy 264, Martedì 10 Febbraio 2026 Nel programma di oggi si inizia ad ascoltare una bella produzione non reggae di Addis Records, e un super classic di Buju, dopodichè si cominciano le selezioni odierne con le nuove release di Micah Shemaiah, Luciano, un po’ di produzioni del nostrano Drop, i due nuovi 7″ Fruits Records con Young Kulcha ed Earl 16, due belle strumentali da Jerry Johnson e da Yuthie con Kubix, Vivian Jones con un brano storico e un segmento “warrior” con Dre Z, Michael Rose e Ras Iyah.
